Is It Just Me Or Is Time Going By Faster?

Where have you heard this before?  "Is it just me or is time going by faster?"   24 days into this journal and I have made a handful of posts and a handful of things have gotten done around the house and I have visited with a handful of friends, and a handful of letters or emails were written, and a handful of things that I have wanted to read got read.   A handful.  A lot of handfuls.   I guess that's not so bad!

Leadership

Today is the anniversary of the JFK inauguration.  Every time I hear that speech I feel inspired.  I know that makes me sappy and Pollyanna but I just don't care.   I long to be inspired.  I dream of over the top leadership that brings us all together for the betterment of this country, balances the budget, fixes health care, and gets kids to eat their veggies and learn math.   To move us from "where's mine" to "ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country"!

Keeping the Journal

Writing in this journal every day has been harder than I thought it would be.  I somehow thought that waiting for the Mayan calender to come to a close would be more interesting or eventful.   One thing new this week is the re-write of the Zodiac chart.   Right  away I checked to make sure I was still the same sign.  Holly crap - what if that changed?

We had this discussion the other day... if a baby is born before its "real" due date and has a different sign than the planned sign is it really the birth sign or the sign it would have had if it had waited until the due date?  I am just asking because I have many folks in my life that were premature.   It can get really confusing.

Here's the hard part...   if they screwed up the Zodiac calendar did they also screw up the Mayan calendar?   What if it is already over before the count down?

I need some aspirin and a drink!

Is it Summer?

Today was a very nice warm day.  The high might have been 30 degrees but it felt like summer after many days of 18 below.   There is more cold coming but today was a nice little break.

I didn't post yesterday to this journal as it seemed like - not just a moment - but a day of silence was in order.  I have to agree with the President that we need to be the example for future generations.   How have we gotten so far off the correct path?

As stated in the beginning of the journal - a journey begins with a single step.   God help us all....

January 2011

Dear Journal,

Well with every good intention I intended to write in this journal every single day for 365 days but here it is the 10th and this is my first post.   But since a journey begins with a single step -- STEP ONE.   I will just go over into 2012 (If we are all still here) 10 days.

Recently Wyoming has been praised in the news for being financially fit.   The first week on the job our new Governor decided to join the multi-state law suite  filed against the new Health Care bill.   I doubt that this law suite alone will put WY in the red but the first week in office - spending money - I just hope he will go a little slower going forward.

I also saw that I80 needed millions/billions of dollars to "fix".   I think speed bumps may be a good idea on that piece of highway.

The first 2 weeks of 2011 in Worlando Beach have given us much snow carried forward from 2010 to 2011.  The streets have finally been plowed with the new - 2011 - city budget and more snow after it was mostly cleaned off.

The real reason for this journal is to log the "real" life at Worlando Beach while waiting for the Mayan calendar to complete and global warming to warm some more.

So far we have not had thousands of birds fall out of the sky, or dead fish wash up to shore.  There have just been the normal amount of duck hunters floating the river and ice fishermen bringing home supper.   So far so good!

However -- everything changes.  Everything is connected.  Pay attention!

See you tomorrow...
